This four-hour workshop explores, through theory and practice, how photographs create meaning when placed in relation to one another.

In the theory session, we will examine the concepts of formal and content sequencing in photographic series through references to landmark photobooks and photographic works. We will consider how formal qualities, rhythm, structure, repetition, and narrative can influence the experience and final form of a photographic project.

In the practice session, participants are invited to bring up to 40 photographs, either in digital or printed format, for a collective editing and sequencing exercise with guided feedback.
